The choir was originally formed in 2011 as the St Nicholas Singers and operated from St Nicholas’ Church, Blundellsands.

The idea was to present a one-off charity concert to honour the life and work of the Revd. Collette Thornborough, the vicar at the church who had recently died. However, the inaugural concert was so well received and supported by the local community, that there was such a strong demand to continue rehearsing and presenting charity concerts so we continued.

Twelve years later the choir has introduced and funded an annual community music Festival, had several weekends away performing in cathedrals up and down the country (and on one occasion, In Belgium), Supported many local parish churches, particularly St Nicholas’ which is where we have been associated. 

 

We are now based at St Helen’s Church in Crosby where we rehearse every Wednesday from 7.30-9.00pm.
